The Maryland DanceSport Championships 2012 February 3rd, 2012

Patty, Karen, & Dian danced at this year's MD Comp held at the BWI Marriott. The ladies danced the Smooth category only this time and they were well matched in each dance. I wish I could float above and watch my gals dance and see their hard work, but I am too busy leading them and working myself.

I asked each of them to make personal goals: dancing their best, applying what they have learned in their lessons, and not taking the scores they receive too seriously. Whether or not they were recognized by the panel of judges was my least of my worries. Of course, when you go to competition you want to take 1st place and 1st place only, but these competitions are filled with some very talented and practiced dancers. Some of the comps we attend are unfortunately politically charged, favorites are picked, and rubbing elbows goes a long way. Since we do not attend the dance circuit as much or as heavily filled with dance heats as others do, we are not recognized. That being said, the gals can certainly improve and dance harder and better. TODAY however....my gals should have taken higher scores then they were given.... in my opinion. They deserve the recognition for all the time, energy, and money they have invested in their dancing, so I am offering it now!!!!! I am so very proud of you. Keep dancing & keep high goals.
