FALL Showcase & Dance Party November 14th, 2009

Months of planning and preparation goes into some of our Showcase dances. We start with a goal, which is usually to master a dance! We then move towards a song that best fits and describes what we wish our story to tell. Then, hours of energy, hard work, and partnering goes into what we finally demonstrate on the big night. We had close to 50 people come to share the evening with us. What a JOY to be able to dance for such a great crowd!

Without the support and dedication of our families and friends, our performances would not be so filled with emotion. Yes, we dance for our own personal growth and strength, but without an audience there to see what we produce......why bother! Each one of these dances is a time piece of emotion and a look into each dancers current psyche! A living enactment....a piece of moving ART! I wish to dedicate this Showcase to all the people behind the scene. Thank you for your continued support!

Liza once again was our DJ, Emcee, and Hostess for the Show. A special thanks to David for his tech support and video & photography work and Sonja for taking some of our pictures during the actual show. John & Michelle continue to be amazed and overjoyed with the dedication and passion that each performer puts into their dance!

1st SET: John & Joan graced the floor with a wonderful Waltz. Amy & John (1st time Showcase dancer) performed a teasing and tempting Tango/Rumba. Karl & Michelle danced a HOTTT West Coast Swing to Aretha Franklin's RESPECT! Andrea & John danced a Triple time East Coast Swing with fancy dips, kicks, & footwork. Karen & John (1st time Showcase dancer) entertained the attendees with a sensual and slow Rumba. Donna & John got the house jumping with an awesome attitude filled Cha Cha by a classic Tina Turner song.

2nd SET: Liza & John danced an interpretative Foxtrot which left some teary eyes in the audience: soft, sensitive, and romantic! Andrea & Randy were a delight with their beautiful Waltz. Lois & John showed everyone how classy & clean a West Coast Swing could look while still adding a bit of sass! Patty & John danced a darling and sweet Foxtrot that also had a few tap steps thrown in by our tap teacher Patty. John & Michelle finished the evening with a Waltz that they are preparing to show in Pro competitions soon!
